Adapted from Shaun Tan’s bestselling, beloved children’s book of the same name, Tales from Outer Suburbia is a 10 x 22-minute series that follows the adventures of Klara and Pim. Klara, a talented 13 year-old artist, and Pim, her plucky 6 year-old brother, as they navigate weird and miraculous phenomena in a surreal suburban landscape.

Eric Robles has been living his childhood dream since landing his first animation job in 1995. Since then, he has made his creative mark on countless projects, including his current role as Co-Creator and Executive Producer of Nickelodeon’s and Netflix’s newest animated series ‘Glitch Techs’, an adventure-comedy which boasts a multi-ethnic cast that surrounds two newly recruited kids who battle video game monsters that come into the real world. Robles is also known as the Creator and Executive Producer of Nickelodeon’s Five Time Emmy Award-Winning CG-animated comedy series, ‘Fanboy & Chum Chum’.

Dan Milano
Executive Producer

For over 20 years Dan Milano has written/produced for live-action and animated TV as well as studio feature films. In 2001, he co-created the FOX live-action television series, “Greg the Bunny,” as well as its 2010 spinoff, “Warren the Ape,” for MTV. As a career screenwriter, Dan sold specs and wrote features for Dimension Films, Sony Pictures, Paramount and others. He has written & performed for such animated shows as “Star Wars Detours,” “Dawn of the Croods,” and “Robot Chicken.” Most recently, Dan co-created the 2020 Netflix series “Glitch Techs,” (with Eric Robles,) and is currently a co-writer/EP of “Wings of Fire,” a premium animated series for Warner Animation (based on the book series, with EPs Ava Duvernay, Christa Starr and Justin Ridge.) He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, with his wife, daughter, dog and dragon.

Scott Kikuta
Creator/Art Director

Scott Kikuta was born and raised in the sunny tropics of Hawaii. Having a strong interest in art at an early age that never wavered, Scott pursued it as a career spending the next 15 years as an artist in the games industry working at multiple triple A game studios on a wide range of titles from Halo to Scribblenauts. In 2016, Scott left the games industry and took his first big leap into animation as an Art Director at Nickelodeon on Glitch Techs.

Shaun Tan
Creator/Art Director

Shaun Tan grew up in Perth and works as an artist, writer, and filmmaker in Melbourne. He is best known for illustrated books that deal with social and historical subjects through dream-like imagery, widely translated throughout the world and enjoyed by readers of all ages. Shaun directed the Academy Award winning animated short film The Lost Thing, and was the recipient of the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in Sweden and the top children’s literature award, the Kate Greenaway Medal in the UK.
